Your Largo chiropractor is continually
on alert for relatable ways to address
Largo back pain patients’ questions. Largo back pain
patients like simple answers. Your Largo chiropractor at
Hollstrom & Associates Inc does, too. Check out these factors that guide
your relief of Largo back pain, arm and leg pain.
CHRONIC LOW BACK PAIN, MOVEMENT AND METABOLIC DISEASE
Chronic non-specific Largo low back pain (LBP) is
a huge socioeconomic problem although the
mechanisms are not yet clear. Impaired motor control is
one issue which was shown by a lower
movement amplitude of the pelvis, additional in-phase coordination,
lower ground reaction forces, higher stride-to-stride variability
and a higher motion in spine muscles.
Impaired motor control during walking is indicated by higher
activity of the spine muscles which leads to a stiffened lumbar-pelvic
region. (1) Dysmobility Syndrome (DMS) (abnormal spine motion) of the
musculoskeletal system and adverse health problems in older population is observed.
Abnormal spine mobility is associated with metabolic
syndrome (MetS) (2), and MetS involves a grouping
of cardiovascular risk factors (insulin resistance, hypertension, glucose
intolerance, low HDL-C, and hypertriglyceridemia. (7) DMS and MetS are related
in six domains: increased body fat, reduced
muscle mass, reduced muscle strength, osteoporosis, slow gait
speed, and balance problems. Notably, insulin
resistance was related to increased body
fat, osteoporosis and balance. This research demonstrated
a strong relationship between DMS and the existence
of MetS and its factors in the elderly population. (2)
Additionally, low high density lipid (HDL) cholesterol and
high low density cholesterol/high density lipid cholesterol ratio were
significantly associated with low back pain in a middle-aged Japanese
population. Largo back pain patients are share the same
issues! These discoveries might support the atherosclerosis-low back pain connection
hypothesis. (3) Hollstrom & Associates Inc helps Largo chiropractic patients
with Largo back pain relief and with their desire to address
confounding metabolic issues.
EXERCISE
Hollstrom & Associates Inc encourages Largo
chiropractic patients to exercise even simple
walking. Researchers assessed the outcomes
of an exercise therapy program on pain and physical dimension of health-related
quality of life for 57 young adults of an average age of 21
with musculoskeletal pain. A 9-week stabilization exercise therapy
program, performed 60 minutes weekly, revealed
enhanced pain and disability and intensified
spine muscle endurance. This report confirmed that a
9-week progressive exercise therapy program can improve physical
health and decrease the prevalence of cervical
disability and low back pain in young people with musculoskeletal
pain. (4) Hollstrom & Associates Inc highlights that exercise is helpful!
BALANCE CONTROL
Largo back pain in older folks effectively reduces balance ability.
Hollstrom & Associates Inc doesn’t view this as a beneficial
event! These patients showed reduced
dependence on ankle and hip strategy for balance
control causing a discrepancy
of postural control from proprioceptive impairment. Moreover, elderly
patients with low back pain are at higher risk for lower leg
proprioceptive decrease and balance ability. (5) Hollstrom & Associates Inc certainly
evaluates Largo back pain patients for issues
with balance.
HAND GRIP STRENGTH
One more thought-provoking
issue is low hand grip strength in women aged
over 50 years with low physical activity was significantly associated
with the presence of low back pain. (6) Hollstrom & Associates Inc
see this as this curious, but it’s published!
